Lantern Art Space<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The Lantern Art Space is located in Shunde Fengjian Water Town, Guangdong Province, which has a reputation of a thousand-year-old water village culture and strong Lingnan heritage. The essence of the project is a building transformation in the context of rural revitalization. The design brief aims to rejuvenate 2 vacant houses and a garden with a river and implant contemporary culture and art spaces and high-quality hotel facilities into them. Led by the Architect ADARC Int\u2019L Studio, the revitalization project revamped two of the existing buildings to create a series of art gallery spaces displaying the works of more than 20 artists, with 29 boutique hotel rooms, dining spaces, an outdoor garden with Lingnan characteristics and to retain and enhance existing ecological river landscape. Our design vision is to create a new platform of culture and art space, with building form showing the unique characteristics of the Fenjian water town, and to establish a new landmark of promoting value of oriental aesthetics. Being restrained yet energetic, the architecture, landscape, interiors, art curating, and lighting design are the holistic and integrated product all controlled by the architect. The facade of the building uses simple and local materials to create a new design language, responding to the needs of low-carbon energy saving, ventilation and lighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
