WYSH<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The “WYSH” project, located at 168 Wuyi Road in Changning District, Shanghai, is one of the key urban renewal initiatives along Wuyi Road. WYSH was previously the site of the Feilo Audio Factory. The project has preserved the industrial heritage of the Feilo Factory, seamlessly integrating new and old structures. It has created a multi-functional cultural space spanning 2 underground levels and 5 aboveground floors. Additionally, the project has completed the careful renovation of two historic villas located at 174 Wuyi Road and 188 Wuyi Road. MCGSNS collaborated closely with the renowned architecture firm Atelier Deshaus to restore the site’s history and culture, while also opening up more public spaces. MCGSNS’s interior design and circulation plans are intended as an extension of the public squares, featuring a complementary material palette with warm terracotta tones. This creates a crafted, contextual space that feels open, engaging and approachable, with a strong focus on placemaking. The shared goal is to foster a renewed sense of community within Shanghai’s nearly century-old Wuyi Road neighborhood in Changning District through this revitalization project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
